Our nursery has dedicated space for babies, toddlers and pre-school:
We have a special curated space for babies and toddlers aged 3 months to 2 years. We have two baby rooms - one for our babies and crawlers and one for our walkers. By grouping babies based on their developmental milestones, we enhance safety, offer age-appropriate activities, provide individualised care, encourage peer interaction and maintain consistent routines. Our Baby Room features a sleep area for peaceful rest and lots of sensory space to stimulate young minds.
We've crafted exciting spaces for toddlers aged 2-3 years, fostering curiosity and exploration through structured play and routine.
Our Pre-School Room is designed exclusively for children aged 3-5 years, offering a stimulating environment that nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Our carefully curated activities and learning materials are geared towards preparing your little one for a seamless transition into school, ensuring they develop the essential skills needed for their lifetime.

We teach Makaton as part of our curriculum. It is a language program that combines speech with signs and symbols. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to communicate and connect, and Makaton is here to make that happen!
We host regular Inspired Forest School sessions in all of our nurseries.
Forest School is an approach to education that makes use of the outdoor environment to learn.
We have a Movement & Mindfulness Programme in place which combines body movement with mindful awareness for improved physical health and mental balance.
When it comes to nourishment, we take great pride in serving home-cooked, healthy, and fresh meals. Our in-house chef, Mr. Tony, is adept at accommodating any food allergies, ensuring that every child's dietary requirements are met. Snack and meal times also serve as valuable learning opportunities where children develop skills and socialise with their peers.
In addition to our healthy and nutritious weekly menus, we offer cookery club and our recipes to use at home. See our weekly menus by clicking on the link below.
We understand the demands of modern schedules, which is why our nursery operates for 51 weeks a year, from 8:00 am to 6:00pm. We offer early starts from 7:00am and late closure until 7:00pm, accommodating the needs of busy parents, available on request.
We have many glowing parent testimonials and reviews on Day Nurseries website.
100% of our parents would strongly recommend us to other parents, according to our recent Satisfaction Survey, 2023.
Our relationships with parents is very important to us. We communicate with families through your child's learning journal, Facebook 'closed' group, at drop-offs/ pick-ups, parents evenings and we host regular family events, such as Sports Day, Graduation ceremonies, Family Days and many more.
We use the Government's Early Years Foundation curriculum in addition to our own ‘Enhancement Branches’ that will build on the foundations given within Development matters.
Hello! I am the nursery manager at our delightful and popular nursery in Eastleigh. I am also part of the senior management team, where I work as the group's Project Manager. I have worked for First Friends for a number of years. I started as nursery manager at our Basingstoke nursery and then I temporarily managed our nursery in Barford St Martin for 6 months.
I qualified with a NNEB in 1994 and have worked in childcare for over 20 years.
I am passionate about the development of movement skills, which enhances cognitive, memory and thinking skills. Movement skills also build children's self esteem and belief in themselves as they meet and conquer new challenges.
There is no better feeling than seeing the children in your care, grow in confidence and become independent, and ready for their own personal journey in life when they leave you.
Family time is very important to me. I have two daughters and we enjoy taking our dogs for long walks.
I’ve been working in childcare since I left college in 2005.
I started at First Friends in 2019 as a nursery practitioner and have worked my way up to deputy manager.
In my spare time, I like to see shows and go to concerts when I can.
We are offering free registration to families that start with us before 30th September 2024.
