Welcome to our very popular family-run nursery, where we are dedicated to offering exceptional childcare and support for babies aged 12 months to five years. Open 51 weeks of the year. Due to demand, we don't have any spaces available until September 2025.
Welcome to our delightful and very popular day nursery, conveniently nestled within the picturesque grounds of Wootey Infant School. We have close links with the infant school which ensures a smooth and stress-free transition for our children when it's time for them to start school.
At our day nursery, we believe in fostering both structure and free play to facilitate the learning and development of our children. Through a carefully crafted balance of guided activities and independent exploration, we encourage each child to become a confident individual in preparation for school life.
We will respond the very same day.

Our nursery has dedicated rooms for toddlers and pre-school:
We've crafted exciting spaces for toddlers aged 12 months -3 years, fostering curiosity and exploration through structured play and routine. For those children who still require daytime naps, we have comfortable cot beds available, ensuring they can rest and recharge.
Our Pre-School Room is designed exclusively for children aged 3-5 years, offering a stimulating environment that nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Our carefully curated activities and learning materials are geared towards preparing your little one for a seamless transition into school, ensuring they develop the essential skills needed for their lifetime.
One of the highlights of our nursery is our enchanting outdoor facilities, featuring two secure play areas. We encourage seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces, enabling our little ones to freely explore and engage in play. As a fortunate member of the Wootey family, we have the privilege of accessing the school grounds, allowing our children to observe and be inspired by the "bigger" children at play.
We teach Makaton as part of our curriculum. It is a language program that combines speech with signs and symbols. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to communicate and connect, and Makaton is here to make that happen!
We host regular Inspired Forest School sessions in all of our nurseries.
Forest School is an approach to education that makes use of the outdoor environment to learn.
We have a Movement & Mindfulness Programme in place which combines body movement with mindful awareness for improved physical health and mental balance.
We understand the demands of modern schedules, which is why our nursery operates for 51 weeks a year, from 8:00 am to 6:00pm. We offer early starts from 7:00am and late closure until 7:00pm, accommodating the needs of busy parents, available on request.
Our lunch is lovingly prepared by the talented culinary team at Wootey Infant School. Every meal is home-cooked, prioritising freshness and nutritional balance. During school holidays, we revert to our First Friends menu, which you can read about on our Thoughtful Food Programme page. In addition to our healthy and nutritious weekly menus, we offer cookery club and our recipes to use at home.
We have many glowing parent testimonials and reviews on Day Nurseries website.
100% of our parents would recommend us to other parents, according to our recent Satisfaction Survey, 2023.
Our relationships with parents is very important to us. We communicate with families through your child's learning journal, Facebook 'closed' group, at drop-offs/ pick-ups, parents evenings and we host regular family events, such as Sports Day, Graduation ceremonies, Family Days and many more.
We use the Government's Early Years Foundation curriculum in addition to our own ‘Enhancement Branches’ that will build on the foundations given within Development matters.
